RPD will remain important to the Port. Ruling out further expansion in N Somerset does nothing for the self containment of Portishead; implies that north of the Avon has unlimited capacity; and undermines the encouragement of economic growth generally. Reference to TBPC dealing satisfactorily with environmental aspects of growth should state "as it has to date". Reference to amenities of Easton-in-Gordano/Portbury is unfounded. Desire to see a Port Master Plan noted for further consideration.

To boldly state that "further expansion of the Port within North Somerset is not supported" is unsound. It may be that sufficient land is currently allocated for the Port; however maritime transport and associated facilities are an important and growing part of the UK economy. The Council should state that "no further development will be supported until there is a demonstrable need".

Wishes to be consulted at the earliest stage of proposals for Royal Portbury Dock coming forward through the Site Allocations DPD to ensure that the full impact on the strategic road network is assessed and appropriate mitigation measures agreed accordingly.

Do not put a big wall across the Severn. Several smaller ones at the edges of lagoons will do and will not kill the river economically

The use of the countryside as a huge carpark for imported cars is an obscenity that should be stopped.
