Long Ashton Parish Council | 08 Sep 2020 | Local Plan 2038: Challenges for the Future Are these the right Challenges? Question 10
The plan needs to address not only the services for which North Somerset Council is directly responsible, but should recognise the role of those organisations that directly affect the well-being of local people including health, education, sports, entertainment, water, sewage, and transport, including Bristol Airport. These organisations not only provide valued amenities and employment, they can generate noise, air and light pollution, and increase the pressure on our roads and services.

Winford Parish Council | 03 Sep 2020 | Local Plan 2038: Challenges for the Future Are these the right Challenges? Question 10
Bristol Airport’s proposed expansion is a huge challenge and should be totally halted as the proposed development is based on a demand forecast that is now DEAD. As a society we must reconsider the effect of the new reality of life and our future travel priorities for work and leisure.

We welcome the attention given to environmental, social and economic factors in the planned development of homes and jobs. But we would add cultural and arts development as a seventh challenge, and health and well-being as an eighth challenge, both to be addressed in planning for the future.

This consultation has its focus on housing when there are closely related issues which might also have been addressed. This includes Bristol Airport (BA), which surely deserved a separate section in this consultation.
